David Sirota is fake: mostly agrees with anti-worker, anti-American immigration plan

David Sirota pretends to stick up for American workers. But, on his July 13, 2011 show he presented only minimal opposition to and mostly agreed with Charles Kenny and his horrible, anti-American immigration policy. Audio below.

With millions of Americans unemployed, neither Sirota nor his guest are encouraging immigration enforcement to free up jobs that Americans can and should be doing. Instead, both Sirota and his guest would make things even worse for lower-skilled American workers, giving them even more competition for scarce jobs and decreasing wages.

Compare Sirota mostly agreeing with Kenny to the link above.

Then, tweet the anti-worker, anti-American duo with your thoughts: @DavidSirota and @CharlesJKenny

Note also the obscene strawman Sirota uses: "the idea of rounding up undocumented folks who are here in a kind of Gestapo fashion is unacceptable, I completely oppose that" It's not clear exactly what he's referring to since no one with any political power is proposing mass round-ups of illegal aliens. The Department of Homeland Security does occasionally detain illegal aliens in the rare workforce raid, and does detain and deport illegal aliens near the border; is he accusing Barack Obama of engaging in "Gestapo"-style roundups? Because, the state-level efforts aren't by any stretch of the imagination mass round-ups; states don't have that authority and none are trying to obtain it.

And, of course, Sirota at the start of the segment just disagrees with the use of "illegal" in the title of the editorial, rather than with the concept of employing illegal aliens. The very fact that there are millions of illegal aliens in the U.S. is an very clear example of massive public and private corruption: politicians turn a blind eye to massive law violations because they're in effect paid off by those who seek to profit from illegal labor in one way or another. And, plenty of large businesses are indeed trying to profit from that massive illegal activity; see for instance immigration banks. Instead of standing up to corrupt politicians, corrupt banks, and corrupt businesses, Sirota would enable them.

It's beyond ironic that Sirota is the author of a book entitled "Hostile Takeover: How Big Money and Corruption Conquered Our Government--and How We Take It Back". Did he read it?
